Within the space of 11 days, soon-to-be White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci went from standing at the podium in the White House Briefing Room to being escorted off the White House grounds.
Scaramucci was fired today, hours after it was formally announced that retired Army General John Kelly would take over from Reince Priebus to be White House Chief of Staff. The firing was yet another staffing change in a White House that has been in constant turmoil since trump entered the White House in January.
Scaramucci’s sacking was particularly jarring since he had been described as the “mini me” of Donald Trump. Perhaps the two personalities were true close to co-exist in the same White House. Scaramucci was in immediate contact with the media. A far too revealing interview with journalist Ryan Lizza ended up ending the short and loud reign of “the mooch” before it ever really started.
