CBC Members to Meet with Trump on March 22. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus will meet with President Donald Trump next week on Wednesday, March 22 at 3 p.m. according to a source on Capitol Hill. It will be their first meeting during Trump’s presidency.
Though the White House has invited the entire 49 member Black Caucus, it is likely that a smaller group of the largest Black Caucus in history will attend. In the past, the CBC has met with Presidents in smaller groups such as its six person Executive Board. In 2011, when Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) was Chairman of the CBC, the Caucus’ Executive Board met with President Obama in the Oval Office.
Members of the current CBC Executive Board include Black Caucus Chairman Cedric Richmond (D-La.), Reps. Andre Carson (D-IN), Karen Bass (D-CA), Gwen Moore (D-WI) Brenda Lawrence (D-MI) and Anthony Brown (D-MD).
From funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities to health care police and cuts to Housing and Urban Development, there will surely be a lot to discuss.
