Trump Puts HBCUs in the Spotlight and Scares Everyone


Who would have ever imagined that President Trump would become a catalyst for national press about HBCUs? Recently, the presidents of these institutions were invited to the Eisenhower Building for a listening session with new Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, as well as representatives for a number of governmental agencies. The fact that more than 60 presidents gathered together for that discussion was again, unprecedented.

Several HBCU Presidents and advocates spoke in the White House driveway after the executive order was signed. Below is some of what they told the press.
