The Anti-Defamation League has released a new report showing an increase in activity by white supremacist groups on college campuses.
“White supremacists have consciously made the decision to focus their recruitment efforts on students and have in some cases openly boasted of efforts to establish a physical presence on campus,” ADL’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement, as reported by Buzzfeed.
“Since the school year began in September 2016, there have been 107 incidents of white supremacist fliers found on college campuses — 65 of which have been catalogued since January 2017, according to ADL’s report.
Since the election of Donald Trump and the elevation of the “alt-right” there has been a marked upswing in anti-Semitic incidents around the nation. Trump vowed to ban members of the Muslim faith from the U.S. during his campaign. He also pledged to focus surveillance on Mosques.
In his address to a joint session of Congress last week, President Trump finally addressed the issue.
House Speaker Paul Ryan did the same in a statement against anti-Semitism last Friday last Friday.
