Tomorrow morning at what is certain to be a confirmation hearing that attracts huge news coverage, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) will testify against his Senate colleague Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) at his nomination hearing to be attorney general.

That has never happened before. It is unprecedented for a sitting member of the Senate to testify against a fellow colleague at their confirmation hearing.

On the day Sessions was nominated, Booker released a blistering statement questioning the nomination. Now the junior Senator from New Jersey has taken it a step further.

In addition to Booker’s testimony, civil rights legend and Georgia Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) was also added to the witness list along with Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Cedric Richmond (D-LA).
