Artists like Fetty Wap, Dae Dae, Migos, and Young Thug are topping charts and keeping loyal fans’ heads bumpin’ with their catchy beats and lyrical wordplay. Now, 300 Entertainment, in partnership with Verizon, is setting the stage for seven lucky (and talented) MCs to open up for one of the independent imprint’s top acts with the #Freestyle50Challenge.
A celebration of the skill and versatility it takes for a person to “freestyle their way through life,” the contest encourages participants to freestyle about their life, challenges they’ve overcome, and the ways they’re breaking barriers and changing the game.
To enter the contest, upload a video of yourself to Twitter or Instagram freestyling over an instrumental of Dae Dae’s “Spent It” and tag @Verizon and #Freestyle50Challenge. Entries will be accepted until midnight on Friday, December 9, 2016.
Once all submissions are received, finalists will participate in a live, freestyle cypher in Atlanta on Dec. 17th for a chance to win $10,000 a single deal with 300 Entertainment produced by London on da Track.
“I’m grateful to be able to give upcoming artists a chance to get on one of my tracks. Being able to provide that to an artist is great. The grind never stops for me as a producer and there are obstacles that I’ve been able to overcome along the way. Being part of this movement and serving as a judge for Verizon’s #Freestyle50 challenge will allow me to give advice to some of the emerging artists who are talented and hungry for this life,” said London on Da Track.
In addition to identifying hot new talent, the challenge highlights the ways in which technology, smart phones and social media in particular, make it easier for aspiring artists to practice and share their craft.
