In yet another piece of evidence that Republican nominee Donald Trump is careening towards a massive landslide in 71 days, Trump decided to ramble on at an event in Iowa on illegal immigrants. He also spoke once again about African Americans only within the context of crime and poverty.
With that, and the evidence provided by recent polls, it appears that Trump is likely to receive one of the lowest levels of vote support among minority voters in at least three decades. Trump’s stereotypical talk when he addresses minorities is more of a reveal on his own personal views on Blacks and Latinos than day to day reality for those groups.
Trump continues to act as if he can fix problems by just saying the words “I will fix that” while offering no detailed policy ideas. Predictably, after weeks of staff changes, controversy and a “return to the real Donald Trump” the polls are showing Clinton ahead in several swing states and a few red states Democrats have’t won in years. They include South Carolina and Georgia.
