Rep. Jim Clyburn to Endorse Hillary Clinton

Rep. Jim Clyburn to Endorse Hillary Clinton

After weeks of non-answers on the issue, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) will endorse former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tomorrow, according to CNN.

In 2008, Clyburn endorsed no one before the South Carolina primary, but many speculated that he favored then-Sen. Barack Obama. The South Carolina primary is on February 27th for Democrats.

Last week Clyburn told reporters that he would think about who he might endorse over (last) weekend but gave no clear indication that he would endorse anyone.

The CBC PAC held an even last week without Clyburn in attendance.  He was the last of only four Congressional Black Caucus members who have not made an endorsement decision in the 2016 presidential race.

Other members of the Congressional Black Caucus who have not endorsed anyone are Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Sanford Bishop (D-GA) and Elijah Cummings (D-MD).
