Cop Indicted for Murder in Fairfax, Va. #JohnGeer

For the first time in the history of Fairfax County, Virginia, a police officer was indicted for murder.

The former Fairfax Police Officer, who was recently fired, Adam Torres, was charged in the murder of John Geer, who was 46.  The killing happened two years ago.   Geer was unarmed as he reportedly stood in a doorway with his hands up at his home.

The Geer shooting floated around in obscurity and was mostly ignored on social media.  But family members and a few in the media kept the story alive. Finally the pressure on various officials prompted an investigation into the shooting that finally led to an indictment yesterday.
