“It’s as if they despise and hate all of our children.” At a press conference yesterday in the midst of a debate torpedoing assistance for the Mexican border problem, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) went off on House Republicans.

With a clear and direct threat of election day revenge, Rep. Gutierrez was clear in saying that “we will remember” on election day. Saying that “they” have “said that they [the children] are disease ridden liced filled gang bangers and drug dealers of the cartel…”

“It is as though the Republican caucus… has had amnesia,” about the 2012 elections, Gutierrez said.  “We will soon cure them of that amnesia,” he tensely added.

After the new Republican House leadership allowed Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) to author a bill ending the Deferred Action program, Gutierrez took to the recording studio microphones and the House floor.  After the Congressman took to the mic and delivered a hotly worded statement directed at House Republicans to reporters, he then took to the House floor for a second round of intensely delivered and pointed remarks.

Over the last two years Rep. Gutierrez has been a leader in the immigrations debate.  He has had several meetings with Republicans on the issue.

Rep. King, who co-authored last night’s bill that would end the Deferred Action program and potentially deport 500,000 people, has made several racist statements against Mexican immigrants.

Below are the videos of Rep. Gutierrez from yesterday:
