Rep. Chaka Fattah of Philadelphia will launch a new TV show today. A Capitol Idea with Chaka Fattah will broadcast this afternoon on PCN in Philly, but episodes will be posted on Fattah’s YouTube Channel at YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ChakaFattah. The first episode will include an interview with House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer. There will also be a segment on American manufacturing.
Rep. Fattah is one of the most powerful members of the Congress as a member of the House Appropriations Committee. Even at a time of deep Tea Party driven gridlock, House Appropriators are able to make big decision on where money is spent. Rep. Fattah has focused his power as an appropriator on education and the study of health issues such as stroke and brain diseases through his focus on neuroscience. From Rep. Fattah’s office: WASHINGTON — Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-02) will launch his new public affairs show this Sunday, January 19th on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). The first episode will focus on manufacturing, and includes interviews with House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (MD-05) and local CEO Alix James, of the Nielsen-Kellerman Company. The show will also highlight a new manufacturing initiative that Fattah was instrumental in including in the 2014 Congressional spending bill, passed this week.
“A Capitol Idea” will begin airing twice a month and will be available in three million households across the Commonwealth. Hosted by Fattah, the program will focus on his work representing Pennsylvania’s Second Congressional District, his legislative policy priorities, and the latest news and activities in Congress. It will include interviews with local leaders, families, and business owners from the Philadelphia community.
