The director of California’s health care marketplace reports that 15,000 Californians are enrolling per day.

Coverage begins for many people on Jan. 1.  Problems with the healthcare.gov website appear to be fading into the background.  It would appear that Republicans may have misplayed their hand when they asserted that “Americans don’t want” Obamacare.  Since the site performance has been improved, an enrollment surge was witnessed in many states.

Last Friday, Talking Points Memo reported that 50,000 people signed up in California over a three day period.  “Health insurance companies agreed on Wednesday to give people who have purchased a health plan until Jan. 10 to pay their first premium for coverage that starts on Jan. 1,” TPM also reported.
