The White House has announced that President Obama will be traveling to Mexico and Costa Rica from May 2-4 “to reinforce the deep cultural, familial, and economic ties that so many Americans share with Mexico and Central America.”

Obama will meet with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico and with Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla along with other heads of state from Central American countries in Costa Rica according to the statement from the White House Press Secretary. Some of the issues to be addressed include economic growth and security. The meeting in Costa Rica will be part of a summit, the Central American Integration System.

President Obama has visited Mexico three times thus far during his presidency, but he has not yet visited Costa Rica.
