Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Has Died

Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro has announced that President Hugo Chavez has died at age 58 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Earlier today the Venezuelan government made moves to expel a U.S. embassy official who was reportedly meeting with military officer with plans to destabilize the country.

Chavez had ruled Venezuela for 14 years under a socialist regime.
