The Presidential Inaugural Committee will formally announce today that performing artists Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor will perform at President Obama’s second inauguration in less than two weeks. Though many have said the President’s second swearing-in ceremony will be “low key” compared to the first, Beyoncé‘s appearance is sure to garner attention.
Beyoncé will sing the national anthem. Kelly Clarkson will sing “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” and James Taylor will sing “America the Beautiful.”
USA Today was first to report this morning that the entertainers will join a crowd of thousands including members of Congress at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol on the morning of January 21st.
Four years ago, soul legend Aretha Franklin sang at Obama’s first inauguration.
