Singer Mary J. Blige brought the diverse crowd attending the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte to their feet in the Time Warner Cable Arena tonight hours before President Obama is to address the convention.
Singing One Love and Family Affair, from her 2001 album No More Drama, singer Mary J. Blige had delegates dancing in the isles at the DNC gathering in Charlotte. Only a day after attending the funeral of hip-hop promoter Chris Lighty in New York, Blige performed at the convention.
There will be no balloon drop tonight after President Obama speaks due to the location change from Bank of America Stadium because of rain. But Blige’s short performance along with President Obama’s much anticipated address may make delegates forget about the inclement weather outside as the DNC pep rally continues.
