Jesse Jackson Jr.’s Doctor: Congressman Being Treated for “Mood Disorder”

Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr’s office put out the following statement at 7:20 p.m. tonight:

The following statement came from Congressman Jackson’s doctor’s office today.

“Information regarding the Congressman’s treatment is protected by federal law under the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPPA”).  The name of the attending physician and treatment center will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy.  His physician makes the following statement:

The Congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder.  He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

In addition, the rumors about him being treated for alcohol or substance abuse is not true.”

  1. The voters of his district need to vote for anyone other than Jesse Jackson Jr. even if it is a Republican. In 1995 he purchased a car for a heroin dealer. He is the person that was trying to buy then Senator Obama’s senate seat for 6 million dollars. He had the same person Nayak raising the money for the senate seat to purchase plane tickets for a female companion to fly to Chicago. This man is a total criminal.
