Sellers, son of civil rights activist and Voorhees College President Dr. Cleveland Sellers, was elected as the youngest member of the South Carolina General Assembly in 2006. He serves as the state’s 90th District representative and is the first vice chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party. In 2008, Rep. Sellers campaigned on behalf of then Illinois Senator Barack Obama as a member of Obama for America’s South Carolina Steering Committee. Prior to his current role, Rep. Sellers worked for the Southeastern Regional Director of the NAACP, U.S. Congressman James Clyburn and Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.
