Rep. Mia Jones Mulls Voter Suppression Concerns

Politic365 chatted with Rep. Mia Jones, Chair of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus (FLBC) on the morning of the launch of the “State of Black Florida” Conference which kicked off earlier in the week.

This year’s theme centered around unified action from various Florida statewide and national institutions to rally around a series of new laws passed in the state that could suppress Black voter turnout. With Florida being  a pivotal swing state, Jones told Politic365 that black legislators and other professional and civic groups have been undertaking extraordinary efforts to ensure the Black electorate is aware of the new rules.

Hear more about the rally planned this week at the State House and other initiatives to protect the black vote.
