Good Newt Hunting and Jan Brewer vs. Michelle Obama
Johnson’s pre-primary riff on Romney vs. Gingrich, Jan Brewer vs. Michelle Obama.
Right on the edge of the Republican primary, Politic365 has its weekly Raw Talk with Chief Political Correspondent Jason Johnson, who argues that Mitt Romney is still competitive, Newt Gingrich is not going anywhere and Gov. Jan Brewer (R-AZ) waving her finger in President Obama’s face is one of the first shots fired in the Symbolism War for 2012. Follow him at http://twitter.com/drjasonjohnson.
“You can be as good as the rest of them, but as bad as the worst. Mitt is drowning Newt in money. There’s absolutely nothing that Newt can do with all the money that Romney is throwing at him. With all the media markets in Florida – with Jacksonville, Miami, Tallahassee, Orlando – there’s no way that Newt Gingrich can criss-cross the state and cover as much ground with little money. So, while he may come from behind and be within 5 or 6 percentage points, there is no way that Newt Gingrich will win Florida.”
“Mitt Romney sent the twelve wolves after him,” jokes Johnson.
“Is he going to be able to change the image he’s got, that he’s a Scrooge McDuck, that he is a Bain Capitalist? It may have hurt him, but it doesn’t keep him from being competitive and he will be competitive against Barack Obama in the Fall.”
