20 People in Sandusky Indictment But Only One Told Police

20 People in Sandusky Indictment But Only One Told Police

And that would be the mother of Victim #6 — 3 were police. Penn State Police may not have even told each other.

Go ahead and read this madness, only then can you grasp true insanity: Sandusky-indictment. Over 23 pages 20 people are mentioned: 19 men and 1 woman.

Take a guess who called the police?

Was it because she could care less about games and legends? Or was it that she had something painfully missing in this tragedy: Common sense.

Anyone listening to the several embarrassing interviews of Steeler “legend” Franco Harris on national TV knows that even after knowing what we know now the obsession with a football coach and games can trump all else — even the safety and welfare of children.  Someone ask Franco what he’d be saying if his son was involved. This Children-of-the-Corn like plague at the alter of Penn State apparently has overtaken Harris but it didn’t overtake the mother of Victim #6.

Her complaint prompted the farthest action up to 2009 and the best chance to stop a pedophile.  Not even missing District Attorney Ray Gricar made what he knew (as a result of the mother of Victim #6) public enough to protect children who would later become victims of pedophile Sandusky from 1998 thru 2007.  Sandusky could have been stopped if just one of the 20 people the indictment mentions figured out how to dial 911.

Then again who knows.

According to the indictment, the mother of Victim #6 contacted the Police at Penn State.  What did that yield?

Nothing.

People say whistleblower Mike McQueary should have done more. Probably true.  But in a society where doing the right thing often goes unrewarded, that he did the minimum should be a surprise to no one.  Keep in mind the victim McQueary witnessed being raped by Sandusky at 10 p.m. at night in a Penn State sports facility is unknown.  The legends at Penn State Franco Harris refers to on TV didn’t even bother to try and find out who the victim was.  That was 2002.  Here we are 11 years later and they played a game on Saturday.  Watch for federal involvement.  These people need all the outside involvement they can get.

Yes, thank God for that one woman.

  2. ABell says:

Do you not even realize that even YOUR little editorial is blaming the people -who were shamed and violated children when this happened as it is- for not having the "Common Sense" to report what happened to them?

Yes, the insane reaction of the Penn campus is a blunt indicator of the backlash those who Are abused fear will happen IF they tell, seeds of fear usually planted by those who are abusing them in the first place and reinforced by all those around who enable the ones who attack kids in the first place.

But what You have done here? That's the nuts and bolts of the shadowy backlash. It's not just the overtly criminal acts against those who've been abused that need to be accounted for. Your version of blaming-which you may be too far removed from such situations to even comprehend- is all the more insidious and damaging. I hope and pray you never have to assist a child in any way shape or matter who HAS gone through something as despicable as this…until you learn how not to make it seem as if it is their fault.

It is not a child's fault if a pedophile continues to abuse children. And it NEVER will be.

sandusky does not need to be murdered. He does not need to off himself.. he needs to go to jail where they will show him daily what is done to his kind who rape kids… the dirty judge was his friend and let him off with out paying bond…. she needs to be dis barred…

My sister and I were discussing the horridness of the whole situation and initially we shared sentiments that this would totally have been different if more women were involved but that is not necessarily true. Part of me feels that things would have gone differently if, for example, McQueary initially called his mother rather than his father, but who knows.

I do see where you're coming from, but this is a scandal about college football, underprivileged boys, and major university figures so naturally there will be more men involved than women. I (would like to) think that if any of the victim's father's had found out about the abuse of their sons, they would have reported it like the mothers of Victims 1 and 6. And they aren't the only men who would've reported it. As you said, it boils down to common sense and not being blinded by "grandeur" of a program.

I was shocked to find out that the impossibly biased judge who set Sandusky's unsecured bail at $100,000 is a woman. Her name is Leslie Dutchcot and has donated to and volunteered at The Second Mile….not shocking.

Regardless of gender, some people's self-identification with certain things and/or people is strong enough to muffle their sense of right and wrong. Much like this entire case, it's sad but true.

I hope the jurors don't Bury Their Heads in The Sandusky. Look, the fact that both teams and all the fans at the Penn State-Nebraska game observed a moment of silence or prayer for the victims demonstrates that people know these allegations are true. Now, we'll all have to endure the antics of a remorseless rapist and his clown of a lawyer, who is just as determined to win at all costs as any football coach. "Horsing around," "an overgrown kid"? Do overgrown kids who have horsed around say they want to die?

  6. Therese says:

The media and Sandusky's lawyers will attempt to shift the blame to the kids he sexually molested. This terror and heinous abuse of these boys is beyond the pale. My question is why would the "legal system" even attempt to excuse this abhorrent premeditated behavior. He needs to be placed in Dante's Inferno. Hope the physicians who examined the kids took some semen specimens so Sandusky can't plead not guilty. His behaviors were premeditated and heinous. There is no measure of "justice" for this grave injustice to these kids by a person in power.

  7. Chico_Zen says:

Actually, the mother of one of the two boys in the shower incident of 1998 called the police as well. That's when the now missing DA set a sting and had officers hide in the closet and overheard Sandusky ask for forgiveness and said, "I wish I was dead".

2 mothers called police. The birth mother of one of his adopted kids (Matt) had also shared concerns with officials about Sandusky.

  8. Chico_Zen says:

Also, how does McQuery qualify as a whistle blower if his actions NEVER led to any sort of investigation or action. McQuery was promoted the following year and has enjoyed a career even as he encountered Sandusky around campus and recruited with him as late as 2010.

    Anyone?

    • sherrill says:

exactly, his "reporting" was more like participating in a conspiracy to hush this up..he stood next to and continued to work with a child rapist and knew about the children's charity….give us a break….

  9. Karl says:

Wow, If the things I read in the indictment are true…there are a lot of people that should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

  10. Marilyn says:

Just watched a video of the infamous Franklin Bank's director, Lawrence King in Omaha Nebraska. Apparently, this sort of child abuse is not uncommon among the rich and famous.

The crimes led all the way to the Reagan/Bush 1 White House with lumminaries from business and politics being treated to underage call boys (some as young as 10), who were the main attraction– after official late-evening meetings broke up.

Following that sordid affair, we find the usual suspects got off scott-free…because they had friends in high places. Even the FBI was sent in to white-wash and condemn the DA's star witnesses. We shall see who goes to jail and who will not. Should be telling….

  11. I savor, lead to I discovered exactly what I used to be looking for. You’ve ended my four day long hunt! God Bless you man. Have a nice day. Bye
