Moderates for Obama?
Team Obama can get a strong take away from this more recent Washington Post-ABC News Poll which finds a good 50% of believe the President is being blocked by Republicans and “making a good faith effort to deal with the country’s economic problems.” They think Republicans are “playing politics by blocking his proposals and programs.”
Still, another 44% think that the recession is to blame on Obama is at fault and the he has not “has not provided leadership on the economy.” 54% of Independents blame Republicans while 57% of moderates do.
These numbers are better for the President but nothing spectacular. It just means that the 50% threshold he finally crossed is consistent with recent approval ratings that are just below that number. So, he’s still got a lot of work to do. That said, he’s found some sort of stride with the more aggressive narrative and stumping on the jobs bill – which still hasn’t gone anywhere legislatively.
