Bishop Paul S. Morton is presiding Bishop and Founder of Full Gospel Baptist and Senior Pastor of  Changing a Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. An international ministry, it focuses on the whole individual, their vision and their service. From June 29-July 1, 2011 Full Gospel Baptist is hosted its 18th Annual International Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. The conference focused on ministry to the whole individual with a focus on vision and service.

During the event the young adult and youth ministries committed their conference time and beyond to serve globally under the conference theme “Celebrating Legacy, Pursuing Destiny -2011 Vision .

“Our focus is from a global standpoint to inform and inspire young adults age 18-35 not just at the conference, but globally.  When they come to the conference they take tools and instruction to apply around the world not just to the thousands that are here, but to the millions around the world.  We are about success and vitality as a whole,” said 27 years old, Ryan Brooks, Executive Pastor of St James Baptist Church, Durham N.C.,

“During this conference we will received instruction from Pastor Terrance Johnson, Conference General Overseer of Young Adults, on how to put your vision into action. Implementation is essential and it is not just about the church, but the holistic vision that deals with influencing communities, planning for families, career and children that makes it relevant and separates us from other reformations,” said Brooks.

Johnson, Pastor of Higher Dimension Church of Houston, TX, challenged the young adults to  look at vision as something that could be and should be despite what is.  The youth reached out to the surrounding community meeting the needs of children and families in distress.

General Overseer Christopher J. Harris, Greensboro, N.C., commented,

“We will have 500 -700 youth ages 12-18 serving others during the conference. We have youth from South Africa, Italy, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.  We want our youth to learn holistically not just spiritually but also teach them about empowerment and education. During the conference we cover professionalism, successful resume writing and financial aid. It is about the holistic person not just religion but about living a maximized life and we want to make sure of that.  We have partnered with Hosea Feed the Hungry here in Atlanta.  We will give out fruit baskets at homeless shelters, stuff back packs for kids whose parents are incarcerated volunteer at soup kitchens.”

Full Gospel Baptist bridges the gap between the Baptist and Pentecostal traditions. It is multicultural and multi-denominational.  Bishop Morton is the son of the late Bishop C.L.  Morton founder of the Canadian Church of God and Christ.  Bishop Morton is married to Dr. Debra B. Morton, Senior Pastor of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist, New Orleans, Louisiana.
