Washington Applauds Kendrick Meek and New Role with Politic365

Hundreds of Washington’s decision makers and power brokers turned out this week to honor Kendrick Meek and to show their support for him in his new role as chairman of the Editorial Board of Politic365.

The former congressman from Florida heard praise, fielded jokes and spoke passionately about his vision for Politic365 as a forum for informed political debate and a source for news and commentary.

Politic365 is dedicated to giving a voice to America’s multicultural communities, Meek said, and is committed to empowering people of color through interactive civic engagement.

The crowd at Washington’s Art & Soul Restaurant included Democratic Leader Representative Nancy Pelosi; Representative James Clyburn, assistant Democratic leader in the House; Representative Emanuel Cleaver, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus; Senator Bill Nelson of Florida; Representative Alcee Hastings of Florida; Mignon Clyburn, member of the Federal Communications Commission; and many others.

Bill Edmonds is Managing Editor to Politic365.com and a consultant in communications in Tallahassee, Florida. A native of Virginia, he has worked in the Florida capital for three decades in journalism, in public affairs and in communications. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s in American Studies from Florida State University.
