The Obamas are off on a 10-day vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, which leaves President Obama with a break from a whirlwind schedule filled with fundraising and appearances. Most important, it gives Malia and Sasha much-needed fun time before school starts.
White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters,
“Like a lot of the American people, the President is taking a little time with his family to recharge his batteries.”
Still, it’s not all play for the President who is bringing counterterrorism advisor John Brennan and national security advisor Denis McDonough to provide daily intelligence briefings. Senior advisors Valerie Jarrett and Pete Rouse will be in attendance as well.
