The former director of Washington D.C’s Department of Transportation has been named executive director of the Carmen Group‘s District practice.
Emeka Moneme, 37, began his career with the District in 2000 in the former Department of Public Works, where he worked closely with the director to make the case for the creation of a stand-alone Department of Transportation. He has been chief of staff for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and director of the Department of Transportation. He left the agency in 2009.
The consulting firm was started in 1985. Moneme “draws on his experience as a public sector executive and management consultant to provide clients with strategic advice and counsel on a range of municipal and federal government issues,” according to his company profile.
Moneme is also a former professional soccer player who holds a B.S. degree in aeronautics from Miami University and a Masters of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati.
