In the first interview since leaving her position as White House social secretary, Chicago socialite, philanthropist and consultant Desiree Rogers spoke with Fox Chicago’s Robin Robinson about her term in the Obama administration. She opens up to Robin about a variety of topics, including her discomfort in being in the limelight.

  • Thanks for posting this, Robin. Aight – just a little Friday night political gossip before the weekend hits, lol. For some reason, it can be argued that this was the problem with Rogers in the first place, even with the White House party crashing incident. She was too public; too bling. And she appeared to enjoy that spotlight, which contradicts her statements on FOX Chicago. One has to question why she’d say that. Theory: let’s just say there were certain folks within the White House, certain folks very close to the President who didn’t like the fact that Rogers was looking more like a FLOTUS than the real FLOTUS. Note: there were reported tensions before the incident happened. Even fashion observers/columnists were constantly watching Rogers, hyping her up as the most fashionable woman in politics, watching her like a celebrity. Of course, certain folks are not going to dig that. Hence, Rogers had to go and the Salahis provided the perfect opening.
